Typical Volunteer Position Descriptions
Live Scoring Attendants
Volunteers will be stationed at four locations throughout the course (4, 7, 13, and 16 tee boxes) and at the scoreboard to communicate hole-by-hole scores back to Tournament Central for posting on the Internet. Live Scoring Attendants will be provided with a two-way radio for communication and a golf cart for transportation to and from their assigned location, lunch, and beverages during your shift . A volunteer for this position is offering to commit approximately 3 hours per shift.
Group Observers
Volunteers act as an observer for one foursome. An observer walks or rides 18 holes with an assigned group. Observers are not rules officials and are not allowed to offer rulings. They may however, point out a possible infraction and suggest that a second ball be played. A volunteer for this job is offering to commit approximately 5 hours. It is possible to share a group with another observer with each walking 9 holes - this would be approximately 2.5 hours. Volunteers will be provided with a complimentary golf cart,lunch, and beverages for the day. Tee times for both days will be between 8:30 and 10:30.
It is the observers job to:

keep an unofficial score for each player
-
check for scoring accuracy within the group
-
help maintain the speed of play
-
escort the players to the scoring table, staying with them until all of that groups cards are signed and turned in

remind spectators to remain at a distance
Spectator Shuttle Drivers
Four locations throughout the course (4, 7, 13, and 16 tee boxes) and the pavilion area have been designated as spectator drop off zones. Three shuttle carts will make continuous loops througout the course assisting spectators from zone to zone. Volunteers for this position are offering to commit 2-3 hours per shift. Volunteers will be provided with a complimentary lunch and beverages during your shift
General Instructions
A Volunteer Registration Table will be located in the tent next to the clubhouse pavilion.
Volunteers should report 20-30 minutes prior to the beginning of their shift. This will give you enough time to be briefed on your responsiblities and report to your location.
