We had 45 applicants for 15 positions. While we could only invite a few to join our staff, the quailty of our candidate pool was exceptional.

General Position Descriptions
Golf Shop Assistants handle all aspects of ensuring guests have an enjoyable and entertaining experience. Principal positions include Outside Service Attendants, Concession Attendants, Starters, Marshals, and Pro Shop Attendants. All staff members are trained in all positions.
Principal positions include:
Outside Service Attendants - handle all aspects of customer first impression, parking lot, bag drop, cart staging and return area, and practice facilities. Principal tasks are welcoming guests and facilitating movement of guests to first tee in coordination with starter and pro shop attendant.
Concessions Attendants - handle all aspects of customer dining impressions. Principal tasks are welcoming guests, presenting and selling food & beverages including on the golf course, and catering the experience to fit the time needs of the guests.
Starters and Marshals - handle all aspects of organizing play and on-course guest assistance.
Principal tasks are welcoming guests with dynamic and informative conversation and helping guests enjoy their golfing experience.
Pro Shop Attendants - handle all aspects of guest check-in. Principal tasks are welcoming guests with energetic and informative conversation, managing all critical course information, and facilitating movement of guests in coordination with starters and outside attendants, and ensuring entertaining experience for all guests.
All staff members are trained in all positions and scheduled in positions based upon operational needs.
Desired Qualifications:
Must have a pleasant, outgoing personality that is happy by nature, be of good character, possess a genuine smile and be driven to excel in a team oriented environment.
Candidates should be able to exhibit grace under pressure, realizing that his/her attention may be demanded in several different situations simultaneously.
Must have good service and communication skills and be able to contribute to the positive overall customer experience at the course.
Golfing ability is not a pre-requisite, but an interest in golf and the enjoyment of the game are desirable. Must know golf etiquette and regulations.
Hours of Operation:
The University Golf Course is open from daylight through dusk from Mid-March through Mid-November. The Golf Course is operational on all weekends and holidays and is busiest during the summer months. The ability and williningness to work non-traditional hours is a requirement of all positions.
The successful candidate must be available to work weekends and holidays and must be available for employment during the summer months.
Average Hours: 15-20/week
Hiring Rate: $6.60
Work Hours: Various shifts 5:00am -9:00pm
